The Latvian airline airBaltic intends to launch flights on the Kyiv-Lisbon route. The first flight is scheduled for March 27, 2018. The Baltic carrier will thus launch flights to Portugal three weeks before the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, the CFTS portal reports.

Unlike Wizz Air, airBaltic’s flight to Lisbon will be performed with a transfer at the Riga Airport, which is the carrier’s hub. The transfer will take 1 hour 15 minutes. Passengers on the flight will depart from Kyiv at 09:40, transfer to another aircraft in Riga from 11:35 to 12:50, and arrive in Lisbon at 15:25. The return flight will depart from Lisbon at 16:10 and arrive in Kyiv at 09:10. The transfer in Riga on the return journey from Lisbon will take place from 22:35 to 07:20 the next day.

The flights will be performed twice a week (on Tuesdays and Fridays). The cost of a flight from Kyiv to Lisbon will start at EUR 116.99 and the cost of the return flight at EUR 112.99.

In addition, airBaltic will introduce convenient connect flights in March 2018, which will allow passengers from Ukraine to travel from Kyiv to Gdansk, Bordeaux, and Malaga. Tickets for flights to these destinations will cost EUR 89, 109, and 119, respectively.
