The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company’s head Wojciech Balczun has announced his intention to create a new brand called UZ Cargo International within the next six months.

Balczun made the announcement on his Facebook page, the CFTS portal reports.

The head of Ukrzaliznytsia announced that he presented a detailed action plan to the Ministry of Infrastructure on 25 July.

In particular, the Ukrzaliznytsia management’s initiative in the area of transportation focuses on eradication of corruption. A pilot system that will automatically distribute cars between clients will be introduced in the near future. This will minimize the influence of officials on this issue.

The head of Ukrzaliznytsia also announced steps to review Ukrzaliznytsia’s tariff policy and step up the company’s international operations. In this context, Balczun announced his intention to create a new brand called UZ Cargo International within the next six months.

"We want to create an international brand called UZ Cargo International over the next six months," Balczun wrote.

The head of Ukrzaliznytsia recently said that the company should be gradually transformed into a player on the international transport market.

"The most important issue for me is for Ukrzaliznytsia to become a normal player, an effective business player that will competitively conduct an active policy not only in Ukraine, but also outside Ukraine. This is because competition for transportation of goods and passengers is not only at the level of individual countries. This competition takes place at the level of the global transport system and transport routes pass through different countries both vertically and horizontally, etc. It is necessary to use this for our benefit. My dream to be able to say sometime that we have ‘Ukrzaliznytsia International,’" Balczun said.
