The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has decided to sign a contract with Novadeal LTD, a subsidiary of the DEME Group (Belgium), based on the results of an open tender for operational dredging of the Yuzhny seaport’s waters and the port’s inland approach channel.

The company will perform the dredging work for UAH 96.28 million. Information about this was published in the ProZorro public procurement system on June 1, 2017. The dredging work will be performed in the operational waters of the berths Nos. 2-4, 7-9, 16, 17, 3H, and 38. The planned volume of dredging work is 411,238 cubic meters.

The participants in the tender, which took place on May 17, 2017, include the companies Van Oord Ukraine, Jan De Nul NV, and Novadeal Ltd.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, which organized the tender, estimated the cost of the dredging work at UAH 98.24 million.

As reported, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has already signed two contracts with the China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd for performance of dredging work at the Yuzhny seaport. One of the contracts provides for dredging the port’s internal and approach channels to 21 meters and dredging the operational waters at the port’s berths No. 5 and No. 6 to 19 meters. The second contract provides for dredging the approach channel from 16 to 19 meters and creating an operating water area with a depth of 16 meters near the port’s berths Nos. 23, 24, and 25.
