The state-owned Chornomorsk Commercial Seaport has begun preparing its terminal No. 5 (a railway-ferry complex) for operation as a concession. The relevant decision was made in implementation of the Ministry of Infrastructure’s Order No. 31 dated 2 February 2017, the seaport said.

The first step was a visit by representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure headed by the head of the ministry’s project office for public-private partnerships, Yurii Husev. They inspected the territory of the terminal No. 5 and listened to the views of the Chornomorsk seaport’s management on the strategy for development of the subdivision.

They also discussed the launch of the ferries that were previously transferred to Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure’s order, the assets of the terminal are to be inventoried and a list of its production facilities that can be potentially involved in the concession should be compiled within one month.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Nadia Kaznacheeva will oversee implementation of the order.
