The European Investment Bank (EIB) is considering the possibility of financing Ukrainian grain-market operators’ projects involving expansion and modernization of their logistics infrastructure. The Interfax Ukraine news agency reported this, citing the website of the bank.

"The project is expected to remove existing bottlenecks related to transportation and storage of cereals, reduce the in-land transportation costs as well as increase the annual volume of exported agricultural commodities. It is also expected to have a positive impact overall on the environment and employment," the EIB said.

According to the bank, funds could be provided to one or several companies that own such infrastructure in Ukraine and meet the relevant requirements.
