More than 500 railcars are expected to be transported from the Illichivsk seaport in the first ten days of September, and the relevant timetable has been approved at the ferry complex. The CFTS reported this, citing the Ukrainian Port Authority.

In addition, 11 trips from Chornomorsk (former Illichivsk) are scheduled to make before September 11: eight trips by Ukrferry ferries and three by BMF ferries.

"At the moment, the docks of the ferry complex are not used in full. An increase in vessel approaches will allow more efficient transshipment of cargoes through the Illichivsk seaport," said Viacheslav Hazun, the deputy chief of operations at the Illichivsk port authority.

As the CFTS reported earlier, 293 railcars and 154 trucks were awaiting transportation to Georgia by ferry in the Illichivsk port as of 28 August.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Viktor Dovhan. According to him, the queue of trucks has reduced in the course of August but there are still problems with the loading of railcars onto ferries.

This situation was caused by an increase in traffic on the alternative route for transportation of goods to Central Asia as a result of Russian sanctions on Ukrainian transit goods.
