Poltava is seriously considering resumption of full operation of the local airport. The promising flight destinations include Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Greece. Domestically, flights may also be launched to Odesa and Lviv, the CFTS reports, citing the Poltava information agency.

This issue was discussed during a meeting between representatives of travel agencies and the local executive authorities. According to representatives of the tourist industry, Odesa will be a popular destination during the summer holidays and there is a chance of filling planes to Lviv year-round because of the city’s special attractiveness to tourists and the availability of ski resorts near the city. However, according to forecasts, flights to Kyiv will not be full.

The Poltava region’s First Deputy Governor Andrii Pesotskyi also said that the possibility of establishing air links with popular international resort destinations like Turkey, Egypt, the UAE, Greece, and Montenegro would be considered in the future.

As the CFTS earlier reported, the Rivne airport is launching its first international flight in a decade.

A flight will be performed on the Rivne-Antalya route in the coming days. The charter flight to Turkey is scheduled for July 10. It is expected to be operated once a week. If the flight is popular, then the TPG tour operator is willing to consider the possibility of launching flights from Rivne to Poland and Egypt.

In total, 150 passengers purchased tickets for the flight to Antalya. A McDonnell Douglas aircraft is used for the flight.

The airport is currently making the final preparations to receive passengers.
