The Lviv authorities are to take delivery of seven new trams from the Elektron factory before the end of November, the city’s Mayor Andrii Sadovyi announced.

"We are picking up seven new at Elektron this year. We should pick up these seven trams in November. We will pick them up, test them, and create new jobs," the press service of the Lviv city council quoted Sadovyi as saying.

The Lviv mayor expressed surprise at the Kyiv city authorities’ decision to buy Polish trams, stressing the need to take care of Ukrainian manufacturers.

As reported, it was announced in April that the Pesa company had won a tender to supply 10 Fokstrot low-floor trams to Kyiv. The first tram manufactured by the Polish company began operating in Kyiv on August 15 this year. The capital of Ukraine should take delivery of a second Pesa tram in November 2016.
