Diesel Plant LLC (Kryvyi Rih) has launched production of freight railcars, and it has already produced 21 gondola cars and a grain carrier. The company is capable of producing up to 200 freight cars per month. The Aurum Group, which owns the company, announced this to the CFTS portal.

"The Diesel Plant has launched serial production of freight gondola cars … and grain hopper cars intended for transporting bulk cargoes that need protection against atmospheric precipitation," the Aurum Group’s founder Aliona Lebedeva said.

According to her, the company can produce boxcars with a carrying capacity of 105 tons and repair of intra-factory boxcars.

According to the information on its website, Diesel Plant LLC was founded in April 2017. The plant intends to launch production of other types of rolling stock in the future.

The Aurum Group performs overhaul and routine maintenance of gondola cars at the facilities of its own railcar-repair depot in Rubizhne.

In addition to Diesel Plant LLC, the Aurum Group also manages the following companies in the transport, railcar manufacturing, and railcar repair sectors: Aurum Trans LLC, Trans Energy, the Verkhnodniprovsk engineering plant, Agregatbud LLC, and Inter Car Engineering.

Lebedeva is the daughter of Pavlo Lebedev, who was Ukraine’s minister of defense during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych. Lebedev is a member of the board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the head of the Coordinating Council of the Crimean branches of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the former owner of the Interlizinvest company. The Interlizinvest company obtained a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for purchase of freight cars, but it did not fulfill its obligations under the loan agreement. The EBRD became the owner of these freight cars as a result of litigation.
