Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian signed an order on transformation of the Ukrposhta state postal agency into the Ukrposhta public joint-stock company (PJSC Ukrposhta) on 16 February. The company's charter was also approved. According to the order, PJSC Ukrposhta will become the legal successor of the Ukrposhta state postal agency.

According to the Ukrposhta state postal agency, PJSC Ukrposhta’s authorized capital will be formed by assets transferred by the state (represented by the Ministry of Infrastructure), which is the founder and sole shareholder of the public joint-stock company.

The authorized capital will be divided into 6,500 shares with a face value of UAH 1,000 each, which means that the public joint-stock company’s authorized capital will have a value of UAH 6.518 billion.

The Ukrposhta public joint-stock company will also have a supervisory board consisting of seven members, five of whom will be independent directors selected on a competitive basis.

State registration of PJSC Ukrposhta will complete the transformation of the Ukrposhta state postal agency.

The decision to establish the Ukrposhta public joint-stock company will enter into force on 1 March 2017.
