President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has proposed participation of Ukrainian companies in the construction of the GIPL pipeline between Lithuania and Poland during a meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, the press service of the Ukrainian president reports.

Ukraine is interested in receiving gas from the Klaipeda LNG terminal, the press service said.

As reported, in January this year, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national energy company and the Gaz System company (Poland) signed an agreement on construction of a gas pipeline (the so-called interconnector) between Ukraine and Poland with the capacity to transport 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
