The Posco Daewoo Corporation (South Korea) is considering the possibility of building a grain terminal in the Chornomorsk seaport. A delegation from the corporation paid an official visit to the seaport on October 23, the Ukrainian Seaports Authority announced in a statement.

"The Korean side was especially interested in the possibility of developing a second terminal, using the berths Nos. 7, 8, and 9. Representatives of the Posco Daewoo Corporation are interested in cooperation and see this territory as a promising area for the construction of a complex for transshipment of grain cargo and their byproducts," the statement said.

According to the seaport, its development program provides for creation of new capacities at the second terminal. The Ministry of Infrastructure is currently looking for a potential investor.

The management of Posco Daewoo already held talks with the Ministry of Infrastructure and visited the Chornomorsk seaport to discuss plans to build a terminal, but the specialization of the terminal was not discussed at the time.

Posco Daewoo is South Korea's leading trader of grain, coal, raw materials, metal products, chemical raw materials, and fertilizers.
