Surcharge on owners of gasoline filling stations and taxes account for about 60% of the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel in Ukraine. This is stated in a report by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the UNIAN news agency reports.

According to the ministry, the purchase price of petroleum products, about 80% of which Ukraine imports, accounts for only about 40% of the price of gasoline and diesel fuel.

Thus, according to the ministry, the purchase prices in mid-January are UAH 7.15 per liter of A-92 gasoline, UAH 7.57 per liter of A-95 (Euro 5) gasoline, and UAH 6.07 per liter of diesel fuel.

However, as noted by the ministry, the total taxes were UAH 7.67 per liter of A-92 gasoline, UAH 7.89 per liter of A-95 gasoline, and UAH 5.26 per liter of diesel fuel.

The trade markup of owners of filling stations in Ukraine, including marketing and administrative expenses, amounted to UAH 3.1 per liter of A-92 gasoline, UAH 3.18 per liter of A-95 gasoline, and UAH 3.55 for liter of diesel fuel.

Thus, according to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the indicative prices in mid-January were UAH 18.92 per liter of A-92 gasoline, UAH 19.67 per liter of A-95 gasoline, and UAH 16.02 per liter of diesel fuel.

As reported, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn and key oil traders agreed on January 13 that prices of gasoline and diesel fuel should reflect falls in prices of crude oil within two weeks. Later, it was reported that some gasoline filling stations had lowered prices by UAH 0.5-1.5.
