Turkish Airlines has begun selling tickets for Ivano-Frankivsk – Istanbul flights and introduced the promotional price of USD 98, including taxes, for a roundtrip ticket, avianews.com reports.

The flights will be operated daily from 30 March. They will depart from Istanbul at 09:05 and from Ivano-Frankivsk at 12:00. The travel time will be two hours. An Airbus A319 aircraft will be used on the route.

The Ivano-Frankivsk flight will also connect to a number of Turkish Airlines from Istanbul. For example, a single ticket to New York can be purchased for USD 510 round-trip with a transfer in Istanbul. The option of flight to European cities is also available, but they involve night transfers on the way back.

The launch of flights between Ivano-Frankivsk and Istanbul will allow Turkish Airlines to expand its presence in western Ukraine. The airline currently flies to Lviv three times a week. Despite the formal declaration of the "Open Sky" regime at the Lviv airport, there is still a quota for performance of a maximum of seven flights to Istanbul per week, which has already been filled by both the Turkish and Ukrainian sides.

As reported, Turkish Airlines is considering the advisability of operating flights from Chernivtsi to Istanbul. Currently, regular flights are not performed from this airport.
