Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) will launch direct daily flights between Kyiv and Budapest on 15 June.

The flights will be daytime, with departures from Kyiv at 13:35 and arrivals from Budapest at 15:20.

The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has been flying on this route since 2012. This company’s lowest roundtrip ticket price at the basic rate was UAH 2,600 in June. Thus, taking account of the cost of luggage transportation, Wizz Air’s ticket price may be comparable to UIA’s roundtrip ticket price of UAH 3,500.

The AeroSvit airline flew on the Kyiv-Budapest route from the Ukrainian side until 2013. Later, Ukrainian air carriers stopped operating on the route.

The State Aviation Service granted UIA the right to operate flights between Kyiv and Budapest seven times a week on 30 August 2016. The right is valid from 1 September 2016.

UIA expects passenger transport volumes to increase by 20-25% in 2017.
