Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has transported 40 million passengers since its creation. The 40 millionth passenger was Svitlana Pohrebna, who traveled on the Kyiv-Amsterdam flight PS105 on 8 August, the airline announced.

Representatives of the airline presented the passenger with souvenirs and gifts during a ceremony at the Boryspil airport.

"We plan to further develop, improve, and win the loyalty of an increasing number of passengers from around the world. By 2021, we expect to increase our fleet to 90 aircraft, open new destinations in the eastern and southeastern vectors of the route network, increase the frequency of flights on the existing routes, and actively take advantage of Ukraine’s transit opportunities," their airline’s corporate spokesperson Yevhenia Satska said.

UIA transported 4.9 million passengers in 2015, 6 million in 2016, and plans to reach 7 million passengers in 2017.
