The Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) loaded 2.2 million tons of grain and grain cargoes in July. The average daily loading volume was 69,700 tons of grain, which is 7% more than the average daily loading volume in July last year, the company announced.

In total, almost 19.7 million tons of grain or 308,700 grain cars have been loaded since the beginning of 2017.

Of these, 16.6 million tons of grain was transported to ports for export and over 3 million tons for sale on the domestic market.

Ukrzaliznytsia currently has a working fleet of almost 15,000 grain cars. A grain car carries 65 tons of grain and grain cargoes. To meet shippers’ demand for transportation of grain, railway workers have repaired 4,134 grain cars, including 3,396 belonging to Ukrzaliznytsia, since the beginning of 2017.
