The Wizz Air low-cost airline may return to the Lviv international airport later this year and preparations for a meeting with the Ryanair airline are underway. The airport’s Director Tetiana Romanovska announced this in an interview with the Lviv portal.

"Wizz Air has said that it may begin flying to us before the end of this year if we reach agreement with it and find ways to obtain guarantees. I think that an understanding will be reached," Romanovska said.

According to her, the negotiations with Wizz Air are still in the stage of agreeing prices. "It is very difficult to reach agreement with the airline because it wants very stable prices for services and wants guarantees for several years. We are trying to find ways of agreeing the price and looking for ways of obtaining additional funding in the years following the first year of operation of flights. We are currently in touch with them almost every day," she said.

Romanovska also stated that representatives of the Ryanair airline have expressed readiness to hold a working meeting with the Lviv airport and that it is preparing a price quote. "We have not even seen the price at which we should serve them, but a great desire for a meeting already exists," she said.

In addition, it is known that the Lviv authorities are already negotiating with Ryanair.

According to Romanovska, arrival of low-cost airlines in Lviv will add 150,000-200,000 passengers per year to the existing 600,000.
