Ukrainian seaports handled 22.733 million tons of cargoes in January-February, which corresponds to the volume they handled in the first two months of 2013. The press service of the Administration Seaports of Ukraine (ASU) announced this, citing operational data.

State-owned ports handled 6.550 million tons of cargoes (29% of the total). Private stevedores handled 16.183 million tons (71% of the total) through all berths, including 8.545 million tons (38%) through berths belonging to the ASU.

Ports processed 16.115 million tons of export cargoes (+7.9% compared with January-February 2013), 2.005 million tons of import cargoes (-22.8%), 4.552 million tons of transit cargoes (-9.7%), and 60,000 tons of domestic cargoes (-70.3%) in January-February.

Container processing at seaports increased by 2.7% to 116,009 TEU in January-February, compared with January-February 2013.
