China is ready to implement projects in the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex. China’s Ambassador to Ukraine Zhang Xiyun announced this at a meeting with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Hennadii Zubko, the government portal announced.

"We are ready to actively participate in the implementation of the national program for development of the agro-industrial complex and we are ready to invest in modernization of grain-export logistics, which will allow Ukrainian grain to significantly increase its export potential," he said.

In general, China planned to invest a total of about USD 500 billion in the economies of other countries over the next five years.

As reported, Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy & Food Oleksii Pavlenko said in March this year that China was ready for the opening of "a second credit line of USD 1.5 billion for development of agricultural infrastructure." These include construction of port elevators, manufacture of grain cars, development of irrigation systems, etc.

The State Food and Grain Corporation reached an agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China for a credit of USD 1.5 billion in 2012. The loan was intended for purchase of grain for subsequent export under trade agreements with China. At the same time, it was stated that a line of credit for development of the agro-industrial complex and related logistics was a possibility.
