The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has canceled the requirement for farmers to return the funds that they received as government support for building granaries if the granaries are destroyed as a result of military (combat) operations related to the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine.

The CFTS portal reported this, citing the Rail Insider publication.

The government adopted the relevant resolution at a meeting on 27 August, but the text of the resolution was published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers on 30 August.

According to the resolution, an enterprise or agricultural producer is not required to return the state funds it received as government aid for financing the construction of granaries that are subsequently destroyed by the Russians if the enterprise or agricultural producer can document the destruction of the granaries. For this purpose, the enterprise or agricultural producer must provide a properly drafted document on the inspection of the granary that was damaged as a result of the Russian military aggression.

According to the current rules for using government aid funds, recipients must return the government aid provided to them if they sell granaries built with government aid or use them for purposes other than their intended purpose within the first three years.
