Intercity+ and Intercity high-speed trains transported a monthly record number of passengers – 266,800 people – in April this year, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure said in a statement.

The trains made a total of 675 trips flights and had an average occupancy rate of 71%.

As reported, the Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company also had a record monthly passenger transport volume – 233,700 passengers – in March. The average occupancy rate of trains was 62%.

The Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company is the first and only operator of high-speed trains in Ukraine. It began operation in May 2012. Its fleet of rolling stock consists of 10 Hyundai trains, four Tarpan trains manufactured by the Kryukov Railcar Building Works, and two locomotive-pulled trains. The company operates 12 pairs of trains. More than 60% of the company’s passengers buy tickets on the internet.
