The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) currently transports 30% of Ukraine’s export grain through the country’s western border crossings.

Ukrzaliznytsia’s Board Chairman Oleksandr Kamyshin announced this at a meeting of the Export Office, noting that this figure was 1% before the beginning of the Russian invasion.

Ukrzaliznytsia currently transports an additional 70% of export grain to seaports.

"The volume of grain transportation has increased almost 8 times compared with March this year and exceeds the indicator for September 2021. The largest increase occurred after seaports were unblocked," he said.

Ukrzaliznytsia transported 3.4 million tons of grain cargo and milling products in September this year, which is 63.2% more than it transported in August this year.
