In Istanbul on Wednesday, the opening ceremony of the Joint Coordination Center, created as part of the implementation of the so-called "grain agreement", took place.

As European Pravda writes, this was reported by the state Turkish agency Anadolu.

The center operates on the territory of the National Defense University of Turkey. Along with the representatives of Turkey, Ukraine and the Russian Federation, diplomats from the UN will work in the SCC.

With the help of the Center, they plan to inspect the vessels that will take part in the export of grain from three ports of Ukraine on the Black Sea - Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi.

Addressing the participants of the Center, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar emphasized the need to ensure the supply of 25 million tons of Ukrainian grain to countries that need to purchase agricultural products.

According to him, the organization of uninterrupted supply of grain will reduce the prices of food products in the world and eliminate the food crisis.

"There is no need to demine maritime zones within the framework of the agreement on the "grain corridor". Preparations for the supply of grain to the ports of Ukraine are ongoing," the Turkish minister said.

Akar noted that Turkey continues the dialogue regarding this process with both Ukraine and Russia.

The agreement on the "grain corridor" was signed on July 22 in Istanbul in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

The document was signed by representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the UN and Turkey.

The very next day after the signing of the agreement, Russia violated it by shelling Odesa port, which was condemned by the UN, the EU and the USA, and Ankara called on the parties to fulfill the agreements.
