Adaptation of Ukraine’s technical regulations to the requirements of the European Union will cost Ukraine EUR 165 billion over 10 years. Ukraine’s Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this on Thursday at a meeting with a delegation from the European Parliament’s Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers announced.

"The Association Agreement is comprehensive and sufficiently complex for Ukraine. For example, adaptation of the technical regulations for Ukraine will require about EUR 165 billion over 10 years. This is a huge job. We will need to reconfigure our entire economy to standards that are new to us," said Azarov.

The MEPs said that the Vilnius summit of the Eastern Partnership is a unique opportunity for integration of Ukraine into the European Union. "The Vilnius summit is a unique opportunity for all of us," said MEP Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroeck.
As reported, a summit of the Eastern Partnership will be held in Vilnius from November 28 to 29. Ukraine is hoping to sign the association agreement with the European Union, which also provides for creation of a Free Trade Area, at the summit.
