The Serhiy Prytula Foundation, with the funds collected by Ukrainians for Bayraktar drones, purchased a satellite that will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the preparation of military operations.

The founder of the charitable Foundation, famous Ukrainian TV-host Serhiy Prytula, announced this on Thuersday, 18 August.

The fund signed an agreement with the Finnish company ICEYE, which specializes on the space satellites production.

The satellite will provide the Ukrainian Intelligence with the access to the ICEYE satellite image database for more than one year.

Thanks to this, the Armed Forces will be able to receive information about critically important locations constantly. With its help, it will be possible to monitor the movements of Russian army and its deployment zones. The satellite is capable of observing around the clock and under any weather conditions.

Prytula said that the decision to to buy the satellite was taken after negotiations with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"Now our army will receive a high-quality satellite image as quickly as possible, which will help us with operational planning of operations," he added.

At first, Serhiy Prytula's foundation collected money for the Turkish attack drones within the framework of the "People's Bayraktar" project, when millions of people and businesses around Ukraine donated money. But the Turkish manufacturing company decided to present three Bayraktars to Ukraine for free. After that, about 600 million hryvnias (17 million dollars) remained at the fund’s disposal.
