The volume of transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products to the port of Klaipeda through Poland has reached 15,000 tons per month.

The head of Lithuanian Railways (LTG), Egidijus Lazauskas, announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

According to him, currently mainly grain is transported to Klaipeda, and fuel transported in the opposite direction.

"Ukrainians transport grain to Lithuania as an alternative to Odesa and transport diesel fuel home from Klaipeda because the demand for it in Ukraine is huge now and there are problems with its supply," said Lazauskas.

According to him, the LTG Cargo transport company began transporting agricultural products from Ukraine to the Klaipeda port through Poland in May, transporting about 50,000 tons by September. "The volume of these cargoes has increased in recent months, reaching about 15,000 tons per month. About 200,000 tons can be transported per year," the head of LTG said.

According to Lithuanian Railways, 31 trains arrived in Lithuania from Ukraine between May and the end of August.
