A new record for loading vessels in berths was set at the Yuzhny port on Monday, October 1, when 206,750 tons of iron-ore concentrate was loaded onto the Newcastlemax-class Netadola bulk carrier. This was announced by the seaport.

The vessel was loaded to a draft of 18.6 meters at the berth No. 6, where the state-owner MTP Yuzhny stevedoring company operates. The loading operation took fewer than six days.

The previous record was set during the processing of the Mineral Edo bulk carrier, onto which 203,590 tons of cargo was loaded.

In addition, according to the latest information from the Yuzhny port authority’s main dispatch center, a new record for daily cargo traffic (259,500 tons) was set on September 27. This is 1,200 tons more than the previous record that was set on April 30, 2015.

The record holder for the Yuzhny port is the Maxi Brazil ore carrier with a deadweight ton of 259,587, onto which 161,000 tons of iron ore was loaded at the TIS terminal in April 2012. However, the loading of the vessel was completed in the roadstead because the berth was not deep enough at the time.
