The Bulgarian airline, Bulgaria Air, launched regular flights from Sofia to Odesa on Friday, December 22, the UNIAN news agency reports.

The flights will be performed twice a week: on Fridays and Sundays. The travel time will be 1 hour 20 minutes. Departure from Sofia will be at 19:05 and arrival in Odesa at 20:30. Departure from Odesa will be at 21:20 and arrival in Sofia at 22:40.

Brazilian airliners Embraer e190 will be operated on the route.

The aim of launching regular flights on this route is to provide members of the Bulgarian diaspora with an opportunity to travel quickly to their historical homeland. In addition, the airline's management is hoping that there will also be demand for flights on this route among Ukrainians because it will enable them to reach popular Black Sea health resorts in Bulgaria quickly.

The Odesa international airport confirmed that a flight from Sofia was expected late on December 22.

Bulgaria Air is Bulgaria’s flagship airline. It focuses on short- and medium-distance flights to European countries, Russia, and Middle Eastern countries. The airline has a fleet of 10 aircraft (five Airbus, four Embraer, and one Avro business jet). These aircraft have 26-140 seats.
