The Kharkiv city authorities and the Avia Solutions Group signed a memorandum in Kharkiv on 6 October.

The document was signed by acting Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of investment projects at Avia Solutions Group, Žilvinas Abaravičius, the CFTS reports.

The memorandum is for construction of hangars for maintenance of aviation equipment at the Kharkiv airport.

“We chose this city for a reason. We realize that there are many universities and potential partners with whom we can develop our business here. Considering our experience in various countries, I am confident that our project in Kharkiv will be one of the most interesting and perhaps the largest," Abaravičius said.

“We have already begun processing the documents for allocation of land plots to allow you to build the production facility. For us, it is very important that it is specifically in Kharkiv that aircraft will be serviced, where Boeing will be serviced,” Terekhov added.

As reported earlier, eight hangars are planned for construction at the Kharkiv airport. Six of them will be used for aircraft maintenance and two for painting.

Lithuanian-based Avia Solutions Group owns more than 30 companies around the world. It employs about 3,000 specialists in Lithuania and its representative offices in the United States, Britain, Poland, Serbia, Estonia, Russia, Thailand, and Indonesia, as well as in other divisions in Europe and Asia.
