The European Maritime Safety Agency will provide the Odesa branch of the Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) with special equipment for the localization and elimination of pollution in the Black Sea.

The USPA announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the statement, representatives of the Odesa branch have taken part in training provided by leading developers of environmental protection equipment for eliminating pollution. The rules for using skimmers and V-shaped pollutant collection systems were demonstrated during the training process.

"In the future, this knowledge will make it possible to effectively use the equipment that the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) will provide for high-quality elimination of pollution in the Black Sea," the statement said.

The USPA and the European Maritime Safety Agency signed an agreement on the free transfer of specialized equipment for eliminating pollution in Ukrainian port waters in March 2023.
