Polish protesters began blocking the movement of Ukrainian passenger buses near the Medyka - Shehyni border crossing at about 11:00 on 20 March.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports, citing information from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Border Guard Service of Poland.

"Polish protesters have stopped traffic on the road in front of the Medyka border crossing. It is known that they let through one bus every two hours, both at the entrance and exit. The duration of the blockade is currently unknown," the ministry said.

In connection with this, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov has appealed to Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński, saying that people cannot be held hostage to political confrontations in a civilized country.

Previously, similar incidents involving passenger buses at the border were reported on 11 March.
