Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) intends to perform daily flights to New York (United States) in summer 2014. As reported by the Interfax Ukraine news agency, the airline company’s President Yurii Miroshnikov announced this on the sidelines of the Ukrainian forum on transport infrastructure, which was organized by the Adam Smith Institute (United Kingdom) and the Ministry of Infrastructure, in Kiev on Tuesday. The strategic media partner for this event is the Center for Transport Strategies.

"Initially, in the first three to four weeks, there will be about four flights, then we will move up to seven flights," he said.
Miroschnikov also announced that the airline company plans to launch flights to Beijing (China) and Toronto (Canada) in the summer. In addition, it will launch flights to Bangkok (Thailand) on December 7, 2013.

According to the president of the UIA, the airline company is also considering launching flights to Shanghai.
Based at the Boryspil airport in Kiev, the UIA is the largest airline company in Ukraine. The airline company plans to increase passenger traffic by 60.7% to 4.5 million in 2013, compared with 2012. It has a fleet of 37 aircraft.

The airline company’s vice president for strategy and development Yevhen Treskunov recently said that Boeing 787 Dreamliner long-haul aircraft could be added to the airline company’s fleet.
