The Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) has decided to change the system for calculating the salaries of railway workers and announced the introduction of the first phase of the relevant reform. The council of the Trade Union of Railway and Transport Construction Workers approved a new provision on remuneration of labor in the industry on Thursday morning, Ukrzaliznytsia announced.

Ukrzaliznytsia announced that it has begun a transition to phased implementation of this provision.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, salaries of railway workers increased by 45.63% from 2011 to 2015, and they have increased by 56.25% since 2016.

"The margin of the next salary increase is expected to be in the range of 17-30%, depending on profession and position. This will bring the salary increase over the past year and a half to almost 100%. ​​This work is currently in the final phase," the company said.
