The Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company, a subsidiary of the Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company, intends to resume operation of high-speed trains to Kryvyi Rih, Ukrzaliznytsia announced in a statement.

In addition, the Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company plans to schedule an additional pair of high-speed trains to both of Kharkiv and Lviv after completion of the scheduled maintenance of the electric trains manufactured by the Hyundai Rotem company (South Korea) and the Tarpan trains manufactured by the Kryukov railcar manufacturing plant. It also plans to extend the route of the Darnytsia-Ternopil high-speed train No. 747/748 to the Lviv station to provide a high-speed link between the Vinnitsa region and Lviv with the introduction of a new train timetable for the period of 2016/2017.

As reported, the Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company recently received two Skoda double-decker trains from the Southern Railway. One of the trains is transporting transports passengers and the second will resume operation by November.

According to the Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company, high-speed trains currently carry about 11,000 passengers per day. They carried 2.8 million passengers during the first nine months of 2016. The occupancy rate of high-speed trains was more than 84% (reaching 100% on weekends and during holidays) during that period.
