The Naftogaz of Ukraine national oil and gas company received notification from Gaz System S.A., the operator of the Polish gas transmission system, on 10 September that it had been forced to temporarily stop gas supplies to Ukraine through the Hermanowice gas metering station. Naftogaz of Ukraine’s public relations department announced this in a statement, RBK Ukraine reports.

According to Gaz System S.A., the suspension of gas supplies was due to a reduction in gas supplies to Poland from the east.

"Gaz System has notified customers that supplies will be reduced to zero at 15:00 on 10 September, Kyiv time, until the end of the working day on September 11 (i.e., until the morning of 12 September, Kyiv time)," Naftogaz of Ukraine said.

According to Naftogaz of Ukraine, the situation is being discussed with the Polish operator and gas suppliers to clarify the nature of the problem. The companies are holding consultations on the timetable for resumption of deliveries and the procedure for responding promptly to such risks in the future.

As reported, the PGNiG oil and gas company (Poland) said on September 10 that Gazprom had not been meeting its requests for supply of gas in full since the beginning of this week. In particular, according to the company, deliveries fell short of its request by 20% on Monday and by 24% on Tuesday.
