The Reni branch of the state-owned Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has begun routine maintenance on four berths - Nos. 15, 23, 26, and 27 - at the Reni Seaport.

The USPA announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

The contractor for the project was selected via an open bidding process on the Prozorro public procurement platform.

The total value of the contract is UAH 12.1 million.

"The repair work is necessitated by the high degree of physical deterioration of the berthing infrastructure. Most of the structures have been in operation since the 1960s and 1980s," the statement said.

Technical inspections conducted in 2024 by ChornomorNDIproekt specialists, in cooperation with the Shipping Register of Ukraine, revealed significant structural damage to the berths, including cracks, deformations, corrosion of metal elements, and other defects that pose risks to the safety of mooring operations.

The project involves repairing and reinforcing the structures, replacing damaged metal elements, upgrading the mooring bollards and gangways, installing new fendering systems, and applying markings in accordance with current standards.

The work is being performed without interrupting port operations, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
