Two more Tram 2000 trams from Zurich have been put into operation in Vinnytsia.
The Vinnytsia Transport Company announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
The newly arrived trams are operating in a test mode on routes No. 4 and No. 5.
The Vinnytsia Transport Company now operates 24 Swiss-manufactured trams.
The trams have been adapted to Ukrainian standards: mirrors, signal systems, ticket validators, and information displays in Ukrainian have been installed.
"The Swiss cars are more comfortable and efficient. They are currently being tested on routes without difficult ascents. After their run-in, each tram will be assigned a permanent route," said Andrii Sorokin, director of the Department of Transport and Urban Mobility at the Kyiv City Council.
The corresponding joint project with the Swiss Confederation has been ongoing since 2023.
