French railway equipment manufacturer Alstom has announced the components it intends to buy from Ukrainian manufacturers. Alstom’s Sourcing Director Europe Alexandre Latapie made the announcement at the Rail Expo 2018 exhibition, the CFTS correspondent reports.

According to him, the company is primarily interested in such products as fiberglass elements, cabins, train interiors, aluminum sections, cast and forged parts, couplings, braking systems, doors, air conditioning systems, connecting "accordions", toilet modules, batteries, window systems, and protection systems.

Alstom is also considering the possibility of purchasing parts for rails, electronics, current collectors, remote control systems, and signaling systems.

The company is also ready to consider other offers from local manufacturers.

According to the Alstom representative, the company is interested in establishing cooperation as soon as possible to allow it to begin concluding contracts with Ukrainian suppliers in early 2019.

As reported earlier, Alstom has identified 50 suppliers in the Ukrainian railway industry as potential partners.
