The international tender for the supply of Kharkiv with new electric buses valued at an estimated EUR 15 million and funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) has ended without a winner. The relevant notice was published in the European Union’s official public procurement bulletin, Tenders Electronic Daily.
The CFTS portal reported this information, citing the Liga Business publication.
Kharkiv planned to purchase 12-meter, low-floor, city electric buses fully adapted for passengers with reduced mobility.
In addition to the vehicles themselves, the winning bidder was to supply the city with charging stations, repair and maintenance equipment, and spare parts, as well as to provide personnel training.
Two bidders registered outside the European Economic Area (the European Union plus Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) submitted proposals.
Despite this competition, the contracting authority rejected both proposals.
The reasons for the bidders' disqualification and the cancellation of the tender were not disclosed in the official notice.
