The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide Ukraine a framework loan of EUR 400 million for reconstruction and development of municipal infrastructure. The bank's board of directors adopted the relevant decision on 19 May, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.

The project aims to extend the lifespan of critical urban infrastructure in the energy, water, and sanitation sectors, as well as to reduce losses, improve energy efficiency, and reduce the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions.

According to the EIB, the total cost of the project is estimated at EUR 800 million, and the Ministry of Regional Development will act as a partner in designing the project.
