The state will spend UAH 2.4 billion on development of regional airports in 2021. This was announced by Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklyi, the CFTS portal reports.
"UAH 2.4 billion from the state budget will be spent on development of regional airports in 2021," the minister said.
In addition, according to him, UAH 1.4 billion will be spent on construction of a new airfield in Dnipro, UAH 1 billion on reconstruction of the runways in Vinnytsia and Kherson and modernization of the taxiway and apron at the airport in the city of Rivne, and UAH 30 million on design of a new airport in Zakarpattia.
"Our strategy provides for modernization of 5-6 airports annually, depending on the amount of funding," Kryklyi said.
According to the minister, the plans for 2022 include Chernivtsi, Sumy, Poltava, and Cherkasy.
According to him, the third phase of the construction work at the the Odesa airport (construction of the main taxiway) is planned for 2021. It is necessary to allocate UAH 500 million for financing the work at the airport next year. The total volume of work that is planned will cost UAH 932.4 million. However, according to reports, the sources of funds for financing the work at the airport have not yet been determined.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the preparatory work at the Dnipro airport is currently being completed at the cost of UAH 12 million. The environmental impact assessment will be completed by the end of the year. Simultaneously, a new terminal complex with a peak throughput of up to 1,000 passengers per hour is being built. Modernization of the airport will require about UAH 6.2 billion, including UAH 1.4 billion.
It is necessary to reconstruct the runways at the airports in Kherson and Vinnytsia; UAH 320 million and UAH 604 million are planned for these works, respectively. The total costs of the works are UAH 320 million at the Kherson airport and UAH 1.57 billion at the Vinnytsia airport.
At the airport in the city of Rivne, the reconstruction of the taxiway and apron is planned for 2021. It is also necessary to install lighting and radio communication equipment and bring the perimeters of the fence in line with aviation safety requirements. Next year, UAH 75.7 million will need to be allocated for the work at the airport. The total volume of work will cost UAH 397.1 million.
The first phase of the design of a new airport has begun in Zakarpattia. Aerial photography and geodetic surveys have been completed and the possible runway locations in the villages of Seredne and Mukacheve have been identified. UAH 29.3 million out of the total amount of UAH 30 million needs to be allocated for financing the work at the airport next year.
