Petro Andriuschenko, the head of the Center for Occupation Studies, has said that the Russians are constructing three new bridges, including a railway bridge, to improve logistics between Rostov, Novoazovsk, Volnovakha (via the village of Hranitne), and Donetsk, the CFTS portal reports.
"The Russians are simultaneously building three essentially new bridges, including a railway bridge over the Berestova River, a bridge over the Kalmius River (Rozdolne village), and another through Shyroka Balka on the Novoazovsk-Mariupol highway and near a new railway line (which was built as a backup in the spring of 2024)," he said.
Andriuschenko added that the goal of the Russians is to radically improve the road logistics on the Rostov-Novoazovsk-Volnovakha (via the village of Hranitne)-Donetsk route while gradually developing a new railway branch between Mariupol and Rostov.
"In essence, this is a branch of logistics 'from Rostov to Rostov' within the framework of a land corridor to the Crimea," he concluded.
