Maksym Shirokov was appointed as the head of the Pivdennyi port authority, which is the Pivdennyi branch of the state-owned Ukrainian Seaports Authority, on December 21.

The Ukrainian Seaports Authority announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

As reported, Shirokov was the head of the Pivdennyi port, which is the largest port in Ukraine, from 2013 to the beginning of 2019.

In general, he has been working in the port industry since 2007. He began his career in the port industry at the Kherson seaport, and he has worked in various positions at the Pivdennyi seaport (formerly known as the Yuzhny port) since 2008. He became the CEO of the Risoil S. A. terminal group in February 2019.

As the CFTS portal reported, the Pivdennyi port’s cargo turnover exceeded 50 million tons, which is the port’s new absolute record, on December 9.
