Ukraine’s infrastructure ranking remains unchanged at 57th in the World Economic Forum’s 2019 Global Competitiveness Index, compared with the 2016 index, the CFTS portal reports.
Overall, Ukraine is ranked 85th out of 141 countries in the World Economic Forum’s 2019 Global Competitiveness Index, compared with 83rd in the 2018 Global Competitiveness Index.
The infrastructure “pillar” of the 2019 Global Competitiveness Index includes road connectivity, quality of road infrastructure, railroad density, efficiency of train services, airport connectivity, efficiency of air transport services, liner shipping connectivity, efficiency of seaport services, etc.
Ukraine is ranked 59th out of 141 countries in "transport infrastructure" in the 2019 Global Competitiveness Index (there was no separate "transport infrastructure" ranking in the 2018 Global Competitiveness Index).
It is also ranked 59th in “road connectivity” (compared with 51st in the 2018 Global Competitiveness Index).
Ukraine ranks 114th in “quality of road infrastructure” in the 2019 Global Competitiveness Index (123rd in the 2018 index).
It ranks 25th in “railroad density” (23rd in the 2018 index) and 34th in “efficiency of train services” (37th in the 2018 index).
In addition, Ukraine ranks 53rd in “airport connectivity” (unchanged from last year) and 101st in “efficiency of air transport services” (94th).
The country ranks 57th in “liner shipping connectivity” (43rd) and 78th in “efficiency of seaport services” (77th).
As reported, Ukraine was ranked 75th out of 138 countries in "infrastructure" in the 2017 Global Competitiveness Index (down six positions compared with the 2016 index).
