Since the opening of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor, 3,118 ships have passed through it and 83.5 million tons of cargo have been handled.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
The USPA met with experts from Asia, Africa, and Latin America at the Odesa Regional Military Administration on 20 November 2024 as part of the second international conference “Crimea Global: Understanding Ukraine through the South.” International experts from Brazil, Mexico, Kenya, and India attended the conference.
In his speech, the head of USPA Yurii Lytvyn briefed the participants on the impact of attacks on port infrastructure and presented the results of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor's operation amid Russian aggression.
"Despite constant enemy attacks on critical infrastructure, Ukrainian ports continue to operate. Since the beginning of the operation of the Ukrainian corridor, 3,118 vessels have passed through it and 83.5 million tons of cargo have been processed, including 55.6 million tons of grain. Since the beginning of the month, the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi have handled 4.1 million tons. In addition, 96 vessels are waiting to enter," he said.
As the CFTS portal reported, 82.1 million tons of cargo were handled in January-October 2024, compared with 46.1 million tons in January-October 2023.
As of October 2024, over 2,900 vessels have passed through the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor since its opening.
