Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved on May, 10, the list of state companies subjected to privatization in 2018 - 2020 years. The document is enlisted more than 700 enterprises, among them are all 13 state stevedoring companies, the CFTS reported.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine was authorised to finalize the list in two weeks by taking into account the enterprise's actual status and to publish the document on its official web site as well as to make ammendments into it.
The infrastructure minister Volodymyr Omelian earlier announced that the concession of state stevedoring companies will be preferable than privatization. At the same time, Raivis Veckagans, acting head of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, supported the privatization of state stevedoring companies. According to him, this will allow to attract investments, to save working places and to make the state stevedoring enterprises more effective.
In July 2017 the government adopted the concept for administration of state enterprises proposed by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. According to the document, the state will save in its property only 15 from 3444 state companies and 363 objects. The rest ones will be tranfered, sold to private companies or will be liquidated. It was one of the requirements for cooperation with International Monetary Fund.
