Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has instructed the relevant ministries to prepare a draft Cabinet of Ministers resolution on closure of Ukraine’s borders on March 28.
This was reported by the CFTS portal, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.
"Separately, we must stop any passenger transportation across Ukraine’s borders in both directions before the end of Friday," Shmyhal said during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting.
Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and the Ministry of Infrastructure to urgently draft a Cabinet of Ministers resolution on closure of Ukraine’s borders to all passenger traffic and submit it at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
A train transporting about 800 Ukrainian citizens from Russia is expected to leave Moscow for Kyiv in the evening on Saturday, March 28. This means that the train is expected to arrive after the Cabinet of Ministers’ proposed ban on passenger transportation across Ukraine’s borders.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a state of emergency in Ukraine for 30 days.
