The cargo turnover of Ukrainian seaports currently in operation amounted to 10 million tons in April 2024.
The Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
"In April 2024, port operators in Ukrainian seaports handled 9.912 million tons of cargo, almost doubling the amount handled during the same period in 2023," the statement said.
Grain cargo constituted the largest share of the total volume of cargo handled by Ukrainian seaports in April, reaching 6.3 million tons, compared to 3.9 million tons in 2023.
"The cargo turnover through the Ukrainian maritime corridor in April amounted to 7.7 million tons, with 5.1 million tons being products of Ukrainian farmers," the USPA said.
In total, Ukrainian seaports handled 37.7 million tons of cargo in January-April 2024, compared with 22 million tons in 2023.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukrainian seaports handled about 62 million tons of cargo in 2023. This included 56.3 million tons of export cargo and 5.3 million tons of import cargo.
