Validators for contactless payment of fares will be installed in all the 150 buses that Lviv plans to lease in in the near future. The city’s Mayor Andrii Sadovyi announced this during the presentation of such a system in trams, the CFTS correspondent reports.
According to him, the lease agreement for the buses will be signed next week.
"This project is financed by the state-owned Ukrgazbank, which is providing roughly UAH 600 million, with the city council providing UAH 200 million," Sadovyi said.
As reported, Lviv will lease 50 buses from the Elektrontrans joint venture and 100 MAZ buses produced by the Minsk Automobile Plant (Belarus).
MasterCard is implementing the contactless payment technology for public transport in Ukraine jointly with partner banks. Payment cards of various payment systems are accepted.
